I am curious to know with the advent of technology, corporations bringing more in-house and driving down the cost of fees, is it inevitable that TPR's are dinosaurs?

Re: Are TPR's Dinosaurs?
Fri, May 14, 2004 - 5:28 AMI think that as long as the top tier candidates are just that, top tier and as long as they are happy and successful at their current position the need for TPR's to identify, recruit and help their client hire them will never go away. Good Recruiters don't look for the bottom feeders but hunt sharks. Recruiters who understand the process, who are 'hitters', and know that relationships, not the internet drive the recruiting process will always win. After all, Recruiting is still, and will always be a contact sport. -

Re: Are TPR's Dinosaurs?
Fri, May 14, 2004 - 7:47 AMBill - Agree with what you say but what if Corporations end up employing great TPR's (in-house) and streamline the process, manage to take the fluff & trim the fat from the process....if they can do this themselves then does this not reduce the need to go external? If they have smart recruiters who can find and build relationships with the top talent then besides using a TPR to hide the identity of their corporation, I can't see the longevity of TPR's when everything else can be realistically pulled in-house....no?
[To put some context areond where I am comming from....I have as many years exp as a TRP as I now do a Corp Recruiting] -

Maybe, but it will only be around half of those in business today trying to do it.
